Voices Across Aotearoa – Ministry of Education | National Education & Learning Priorities (NELP)

Overview

This project brought me closer to the heart of education in Aotearoa. Helping co-ordinate the public consultation for the National Education & Learning Priorities (NELP) felt like a real privilege—it gave me a window into the values, hopes and challenges of people across the country.

The Challenge

We had a lot of ground to cover—organising public engagement sessions across the motu and ensuring our consultation process was inclusive, well-run and accessible. The logistics were no small feat, and the expectations were high.

Approach Taken

I worked closely with the policy team to plan, coordinate, and deliver nationwide events, making sure every detail was thought through. From scheduling to briefing materials, I helped create an environment where people felt heard and respected.

Outcome

The consultation gave real voice to communities and helped shape a stronger, more grounded set of priorities for education in NZ. It was a reminder that the best policies are built on genuine connection—and I was proud to help make that possible.
